RUTH ANN SALMON
(12/6/1917 – 9/23/2007)

Ruth Ann Salmon left us on September 23, 2007. She was born near Memphis, MO, on December 6, 1917, the daughter of John and Laura Belle Hilpert.

She graduated from Memphis High School going on to attend Kirksville State Teachers College and Gem City Business College at Quincy, IL. She worked for the Scotland County National Bank in Memphis before going to work for the government in Indianapolis, IN, where she developed a life long interest in the Indy 500.

In 1944 she moved to San Francisco, CA, where she met her husband, Robert Charles Salmon.

She spent 46 years there, raising her children and working in the administrative side of the construction industry, retiring from Nibbi Bros. Construction in 1982. In 1990 Ruth moved to Boise to be near her daughter and family. She developed a beautiful flower garden and stayed active with the Happy Hoofers and Ecumaniacs.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a brother; and a grandson.

She leaves behind her son, John Salmon and wife, Linda of Sonora, CA; daughter, Margaret Butterfield and husband, Ivan of Boise, ID; granddaughter, Lisa Hurley and husband, Brian of Sonora, CA; grandson, Robert Butterfield and grandson, Brent Butterfield and wife, Elizabeth, all of Boise, ID; three great-grandchildren; and many relatives and friends.

One of Ruth’s favorite pastimes was sharing meals with family and friends. To honor that memory and celebrate her life, a potluck picnic was held September 30, in Boise, ID.

Memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
