Lady Tigers Take Title, Boys 4th at SCR-I Jayvee Tourney

Teams from across northeast Missouri converged on Memphis last week as Scotland County R-I High School hosted its annual junior varsity basketball tournament.

The Lady Tigers rallied from an early deficit to defeat Clark County 42-37 to hoist the championship tournament.

Brookfield bested Knox County 37-28 in the girls’ third place contest.

In boys action it was Knox County defeating Putnam County 57-53 in the championship game.

Clark County came from behind in the fourth period to beat SCR-I in the third place game.

Jacob Howard had 17 points in the game but SCR-I was outscored 12-6 in the games final seven minutes.

Scotland County (4-7) dropped its tourney opener to Knox County 55-46. Howard had 18 points in the defeat. Andrew Duley and Brandon Garnett each scored 10 points.

Brookfield beat Schuyler County 30-29 in the boys’ consolation match.

No box scores were made available to the newspaper for the girls’ games.
