In girls tourney play the trophy games came down to Luray vs. Keokuk Christian Academy for consolation, Scotland County fifth vs. Scotland County sixth for third place, and Clark County fifth vs. Clark sixth for first place.

The Luray girls came out on top of K.C.A. with a score of 24 to 8. The third place game kept fans on the edge of their seats until the very end when Scotland County fifth ousted the Scotland County sixth grade girls with a score of nine to eight. Clark County fifth took on Clark County sixth for the championship game. The fifth graders overtook the sixth with a score of 21 to 13.

In the boys’ final games, consolation play was between Wyaconda and Luray, the third place game matched Gorin and Scotland County fifth grade and the first place game came down to Clark County sixth and Scotland County sixth.

In consolation play Luray defeated Wyaconda 25 to 21. A hard fought third place game ended with Gorin topping Scotland County fifth with a score of 26 to 16. The Clark County sixth graders came out on top of the Scotland County sixth graders in the first place game with a score of 48 to 18.

In awarding the sportsmanship trophy the tournament sponsors and referees look for the team that displays respect, teamwork, cooperation and fair play both on and off the court. The girls’ sportsmanship award went to Scotland County sixth and the boys went to Keokuk Christian Academy.

The district congratulates all teams on a job well done. Next year’s tournament will be held March 3rd through 8th.
