Weather Spoils Strong Run By Tigers Track Team

An excellent start at the Davis County Relays in Bloomfield, IA, was spoiled for the SCR-I boys’ track team as inclement weather forced the suspension of the relays midway through the event.

Bryce Blomme had opened well for the Tigers with a first place finish in the 400-meter run. He was joined by Trey Crow, Eric Glass and Bryce Blomme for a second place performance in the 200-meter relay.

Vince Trucksaess earned third place points in the 400-meter dash while Glass was third in the 100-meter dash and Casey Parrish was third in the 1,600-meter run. The Tigers 4x800-meter relay team of Nathan Purvis, Ryan Auld, Ben Wiley and Dylan Gelbach also finished third.

Lance Smith was fourth in the shotput and the shuttle relay team of Jeff Kice, Charles Wiggins, Wiley and Brandon Garnett took fourth as well.

Travis Bruns earned fifth place in the grueling 3,200 meter run while Riley Watkins finished sixth in the discus.
