Top SCR-I Performances Lost in Shuffle of 32-Team Brookfield Relays

Several personal bests by Scotland County athletes were lost in the shuffle of the mammoth field at the Brookfield Relays. A total of 32 schools were represented at the event held April 20th.

“This was a great competition,” said SCR-I girls’ track coach T.J. Young. “Our girls set personal records in several events so I was very pleased with our team, even though we didn’t score a lot of points.”

The girls set personal bests in the 4x200 relay while Valerie Oldham had her best 200-meter dash time and Jakki Ebert had a personal best in the shot put.

Kirsten Johnston did pick up some points for the Lady Tigers. She crossed the finish line first in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:34.

“This week the girls really competed,” Young said. “After the Clark meet, we felt that we didn’t compete too well. We really came back this week and put forth some of our best efforts of the season. We are very excited for conference and districts to come around.”
