Boys Track Team Travels To Iowa

The Scotland County varsity boys track team took part in the Van Buren County Relays on April 30.

The Tigers 4x100 relay team was the top performer. The squad of Bryce Blomme, Grant Blomme, Marcus Shalley and Eric Glass took second place.

Trey Crow earned third place in the 200-meter dash.

Crow, Matt Wickert, B. Blomme and G. Blomme combined to take fourth in the 4x400-meter relay. Casey Parrish finished fourth in the 800-meter run.

Fifth place finishes were turned in by Glass in the 100-meter dash and Lance Smith in the shot put.

The 4x800 team of Nathan Purvis, Ben Wiley, Ryan Auld and Dylan Gelbach took sixth. Wickert earned sixth place points in the long jump.

“A lot of the athletes had personal bests in their events,” said coach Doug Baker. “This is great for the team and the athletes as we head into districts this weekend.”
