Annual Ladies’ Day Event Draws 60 Golfers To TRGC

Timber Ridge Golf Course hosted its annual Ladies’ Day Golf Tournament on Saturday, July 14th with 60 golfers participating.

The four-woman squad of Hyde, Copeland, Teter and Hainline took top honors in the 15-team field. They carded a 62 and won the tie breaker over the team of Grant, Bogart, Piper and Utt. Both teams shot a 62. Third place in the championship flight went to the team of Gosney, Job, Rutherford and Caldwell with a 63.

A score of 65 topped the A flight. The winning team was Piper, Early, Taylor and Garrett. The team of Herndon, Watson, Kisner and Hull finished second with a 67 followed by the team of Schoonover, Fowler, Warrick and Johnson with a 68.

The B Flight winners were Jeannie Drummond, Dawn Miller, Jennie Stone and Meagan Fromm. They shot a 70. Second place went to Shirley Eggleston, Kelly Frazier, Deanna Dunn and Stacey Juhl with a 71. The team of Terri Slaughter, Kelli Swearingen, Andrea Dabney and Kara Hamlin finished third with a 72.

Kim Siren claimed the 50/50 prize on the front nine with her shot just 3’3” from the pin on hole #3. On the back nine, Sue Utt cashed in with her shot that was just 14” from a hole in one. Brenda Warrick sank the longest putt of the day on hole #5, covering 16’6” to claim the prize. Sandy Hainline won the prize on hole #7, while the longest drive on hole #6 went to Garrett.

The event was sponsored by Gas & More, Pizza Hut, the Catfish Place, Community Bank of Memphis, the Fabius, Don F. Harrison, Hinds Realty-Jed Hinds, U.S. Bank, Exchange Bank, Bank of Kirksville, Arlys & Co., Crystal’s Country Style, Suzie Miller Jaffa Products, Leslie Clark, the TRGC Ladies’ League, Pepsi-Cola, and Andy Boyer.

Organizers also praised the volunteers that cooked and worked during the event. Those helpers included Jed Hinds, Roger Riebel, Max Eggleston, Gary Young, Mike Frazier, Dennis Robertson, Bob Newman, Stephanie Shalley, Beth Johnson and Betsy Johnson.
