Edna Helen Sizemore is First Baby of 2008 Born at SCMH

Jessie Sizemore and her husband Mark had back-to-back late nights to start 2008. They celebrated the clock striking midnight on New Year’s Eve and then were in for yet another long night on New Year’s Day.

Their daughter had a lot to do with that. Edna Helen Sizemore was born at 1:47 a.m. on January 2nd, the first baby of the New Year born at Scotland County Memorial Hospital. She tipped the scales at six pounds and 10.8 ounces and measured 21 inches in length.

Edna is the daughter of Mark and Jessie Sizemore of Novelty. Grandparents are Mark and Brenda Sizemore of Hurdland, Rick and Dorothy Walton of Quincy, IL, Aurthur Sizemore of Kirksville and Carol Walton of LaGrange.

As the first baby of the New Year, Edna was showered with a number of special gifts donated by area merchants including Memphis Farm & Home, Payne Funeral Chapel, Cook’s Mens Store, Scotland County Care Center and Scotland County Memorial Hospital Ladies’ Auxiliary, RPM, Kim Nicoli Attorney at Law, Gingerbread Café, Farley’s Trading Post, U.S. Bank, Community Bank of Memphis, Don F. Harrison Insurance Agency, and Countryside Flowers.
