‘The Past Revisted’ Will be Theme of 2008 Antique Fair
Scotland County Antique Fair Association met on January 14 with approximately 20 in attendance. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Buford. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved along with the treasurer’s report given and approved.
Theme for the 2008 fair was chosen, “THE PAST: REVISITED”. The collector button will be available very soon. It will feature a covered wagon with oxen pulling a wagon.
The 2008 contact list is established as follows: Tractors, Doc Wiggins or Richard Briggs; Small Engines, Richard Briggs and Kenny Monroe; Parade Horses, Roy Monroe; Car Show, Jerry Grosenkemper; Fly-In, Audrey Glass; Vendors, Leon Buford; Tractor Poker Run, Brian and Melinda Briggs; Food Service, Tom Priebe and Max Bruner; Parade, Robert Owings and Brian and Melinda Briggs; Draft Horse Pull, Gene Brown; Quilt Show, Druzella Winn, Peggy Brown, and Babe Gregory; Baby Show, Karen Kraus; Window Displays, Michelle Drummond; and Old Machinery, Bob Trueblood.
This group meets the second Monday of every month at the Antique Fair Building. Winter months meetings start at 6:30 p.m., otherwise we begin at 7:00 p.m. Anyone interested is welcome to attend. There are several fundraisers held thoughout the year to be able to put the antique fair on. The next fundraiser scheduled is the Ham and Bean Supper on February 15th.Serving starts at 4:00 p.m.
Officers for 2008 are chairman, Leon Buford; vice chairman, Jerry Grosenkemper; secretary, Elaine Briggs; treasurer, Ella Owings; board of directors, Kenny Monroe, Druzella Winn, and Scott Westhoff.
