Chamber of Commerce Welcomes White Oak Counseling to Memphis

White Oak Counseling was officially welcomed to Memphis with a special ribbon cutting ceremony held February 28th by the Memphis Area Chamber of Commerce.

Owner and Operator Carrie Danner MSW, LCSW, joined site director Kathy Humphreys, MSW, LCSW and staff member Tara Yarbrough, MSE, PLPC to cut the ribbon with Chamber president Chuck Kigar.

White Oak Counseling offers counseling for individuals, children adolescent and adult, as well as couples, families and marriage counseling.

Areas of treatment include balancing work and family, parenting concerns, family preservation and family and marital concerns.

The staff can help provide support for those dealing with sexual abuse, domestic violence, and substance abuse.

Other areas White Oak can help with include pain management, stress, illness and grief from the loss of a loved one, depression, anxiety and anger management.

The service utilizes a team approach to help determine the most effective forms of treatment for each client. This dedicated attention in a comfortable setting helps White Oak Counseling achieve its mission to strive for excellence through superior patient treatment, education and satisfaction.

“We provide a safe and nuturing environment for individuals, couples, and families to resolve interpersonal, career and stress of life problems,” said Yarbrough. ‘We use a strengths-based approach in our work. We view counseling as a collaborative effort between the counselor and the client.”

This can be done through a number of the services available at White Oak including parent education; couple and marriage counseling; family counseling; individual counseling; psychosocial assessments; group counseling and consultation and referrals.

“Bringing the experience and specialties of multiple therapists together, our mental health professionals possess advanced therapeutic skills for creating efficient and effective strategies for lasting change,” said Danner. “We provide our services with compassion, empathy and the highest respect for confidentiality.”
