Campaign Signs Hit by Vandals

A series of recent political sign vandalisms has the Memphis Police Department warning the public of the repercussions of such actions.

Local law enforcement is investigating the removal and altercation of a number of campaign signs for Democratic sheriff candidate Bryan Whitney. The vandalized signs were located in the city. The crimes are believed to have occurred on the evening of Monday, June 9th.

As the signs were taken from the original locations, altered and then replaced elsewhere, the individual(s) responsible for the actions could be facing theft and property damage charges.

The police department is also investigating the vandalism of a realty sign that is believed to be related to the case.

Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to contact the police department at 465-2612. A reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and conviction of those responsible for the crimes.
