Meet Me In St. Louis Play Practice in Full Swing

Meet Me in St. Louis tells the story of a turn-of-the-century family in St. Louis. The city and the Smith family who lives in a stylish Edwardian home at 5135 Kensington Avenue are preparing to host and celebrate the 1904 World’s Fair.

The head-of-the-house Mr. Alonso Smith (Joe Fulk) has received a job promotion, which will uproot the family and send them to New York. The other family members Mrs. Anna Smith (Lori Fulk), daughters Rose (Brooke Wineinger), Esther (Lindsay Becraft), Agnes (McKinsay Cooley), and Tootie (Abigail Quillin), and son Lon (Michael Fulk) are stunned with the news. The maid Katie (Schelle Cooley) will lose her job, and Grandpa Prophater’s (Harlo Donelson) comfortable life will be disrupted.

Esther and Rose are especially distressed because their romances with beaux John Truitt (Cole Tippett) and Warren Sheffield (Josh Parker) are threatened.

Other cast members include Lucille Ballard (Melissa Cotton), Eve (Shelby Westhoff), Postman (Frank Wineinger), Motorman (Jeff Dyer), Clinton Badger (Jordan Fulk), and Peewee Drummond (Chad Consbrock).

Members of the Ensemble joining the Smith family in the musical production include Micah Cooley, Tom and Theresa Cotton, Brenda and Renee DeMarce, Lynnette Dyer, Hilary Harris, Sharon O’Donnell, JoAnn Peters, and John Wullbrandt.

Tickets for Meet Me in St. Louis are $8.00 and will go on sale on Monday, July 7. The box office will be open from 1:00-4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. For further information call the Theatre at 660 465-2277 during box office hours.
