SC Farm Bureau to Host Annual Meeting
Local, state and national… Farm Bureau works on all three levels. The grassroots efforts as far as Scotland County is concerned, will be recognized on Saturday, July 28th, at the Scotland County Farm Bureau Annual Meeting.
Members will gather at 6:00 p.m. at the Fabius restaurant in Memphis. Missouri Farm Bureau Director of Marketing and Commodities Kelly Smith will be the guest speaker for the banquet.
In addition to laying the groundwork for the county’s representation at the state convention in December, local Farm Bureau members will also be seeking male and female candidates between the ages of 17 and 22 to participate in the 2009 Missouri Farm Bureau Ambassador Program. If interested in either of these contests, please call 660-465-2623 for more information.
The Missouri Farm Bureau ambassador program selects a male and female student, 17-22 years of age, to represent agriculture and Farm Bureau for one year. Each Ambassador receives a $1,250 educational scholarship, travel to Washington, D.C., in March on a Farm Bureau legislative trip, and represent Farm Bureau at the Missouri State Fair and other events.
The annual banquet will also feature a talent call for participants between the ages of 12 and 30 to compete in the 2008 Talent Find Contest at the Annual MFBF Meeting in December.
The Missouri Farm Bureau Federation is a statewide organization with offices in every county of the state. Each county has its own president and board of directors elected by county Farm Bureau members.
Missouri Farm Bureau serves its members through its varied affiliates; Farm Bureau Town & Country Insurance Company; Missouri Farm Bureau Insurance Brokerage, Inc.; Farm Bureau Life Insurance Company; Missouri Agricultural Marketing Association, Inc.; and Missouri Farm Bureau Services, Inc.
