MoDOT to Host Local Meeting on Bridge Work

HANNIBAL - MoDOT will rehabilitate the Route H bridge just north of Arbela in Scotland County next year. To help prepare area residents for the temporary road closure, MoDOT will make a brief presentation during the county’s public meeting on the sales tax issue on Thursday, October 23 around 6 p.m. at the Rotary building in Memphis.

“This bridge is part of the statewide Safe & Sound program, which means it’s going to be repaired early next year,” explained MoDOT Construction and Materials Engineer Macy Rodenbaugh.

Rodenbaugh will not have all the specifics of the project available at the meeting as far as dates for the closure and construction, yet he will explain how the bridge is being repaired.

Other bridges slated for repair as part of the program include Route C in Knox County just west of Greensburg, and Route C in Pike County just south of Frankford.

More information about the Safe & Sound program can be found at http://www.modot.org/, or by calling 1-888 ASK MODOT.
