Husband, Wife Hurt in Collision With Tractor

A Downing couple sustained moderate injuries when their vehicle crashed into the rear of a tractor in Schuyler County on December 13th.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred on Highway 136, three miles west of the Highway 63 intersection in Lancaster at 6:30 p.m.

Charles E. Jackson, 64, was eastbound in a 2001 Chevrolet when the vehicle crested a hill and struck a 1966 International Farmall tractor being driven eastbound by Samuel L. Kerby, 50 of Glenwood. Both vehicles ran off the roadway, coming to rest in the ditch.

Jackson and his wife, Anita K. Jackson, 64, a passenger in the vehicle, both sustained moderate injuries in the crash. They were transported by Schuyler County Ambulance to Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville. Kerby was uninjured.

Both vehicles sustained total damage in the accident.
