CHARLES M. BOURN
(11/22/1924 - 2/13/2008)



Charles M. Bourn, age 83 of Gorin, MO, died February 13, 2008 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.

Charles was born south of Gorin, MO, November 22, 1924, to George and Elsie (Boyer) Bourn.

On February 11, 1951, he married Ann Hill in Kahoka, MO who survives. To this union six children were born: Connie Lancaster (Dale) of Gladstone MO, Cindy Walker (John) of Austin, Texas, Lora Ewbank (James) of Overland Park, KS, Tracy Myers of Overland Park, KS, Judy Shultz (Jerry) of Rutledge, MO, and Steven Bourn (Amy) of Lees Summit, MO. Also surviving are one sister Wynona Howard and her husband Eugene of Granger, MO, two sisters-in-law Mary Parson and her husband Maxwell of Ocala, FL, and June Fish of Batavia IL, nine grandchildren: Ashley and Alissa Lancaster, Christopher Walker, Brandon Ewbank, Trevor and Brady Myers, Jordan and Jessica Shultz, and Kelsie Bourn.

Mr. Bourn was a lifelong resident of Gorin. He attended Price Grade School and Gorin High School. He owned and operated his own trucking business for over 30 years. After retirement, he worked several years hauling gravel for Scotland County. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, playing cards, watching NASCAR, and spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Boyd Bourn.

The family has suggested memorials to the Scotland County Cancer Fund and may be left at or mailed to the Payne Funeral Chapel, 202 E. Madison Street, Memphis, MO 63555.

Memorial services were held on Saturday, February 16, 2008. Inurnment was in the Gorin Cemetery, Gorin, MO. Arrangements were handled by Payne Funeral Chapel, Memphis, MO.
