ALPHA DENNIS TRIPP
(8/30/1929 - 2/14/2008)



Alpha Dennis Tripp, 78, of Volin, SD passed away Thursday, February 14, 2008 at the Wakonda Heritage Manor.

Dennis was born August 30, 1929 in Rutledge, MO, to James and Florence (Parrish) Tripp. He grew up and attended school in Anyok, MO.

He married Twila Kathleen Chancellor on October 29, 1950 in Memphis, MO.

He served during the Korean War with the United States Marine Corps from March 26, 1952 to March 26, 1960. Following the war, Dennis and Kathleen lived in Missouri, and in 1964 they moved to Vermillion, SD. They also lived in Gayville, and Volin, SD where they had resided for the past 37 years. Dennis worked for the Clay County Highway Department for many years. Dennis enjoyed bowling, fishing, camping, watching baseball and spending time with his grandchildren.

Dennis is survived by his wife Kathleen, four sons; Wes (June) Tripp, Gayville, SD, Alvin (Martha) Tripp, Utica, SD, Tim (Kim) Tripp, Hartford, SD, Scott Tripp, Volin, SD, four daughters; Pam (Rex) Bye, Gayville, SD, Tammie (Doug) Ruffle, Toms River, NJ, Janet (Darrell) Haas, Volin, SD and Crystal Henrichs, Columbus, NE, also sixteen grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and two sisters Verda Grabowski, Elgin, IL and Vada Small, Rutledge, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Denver Tripp and one sister Vida Edwards.

Funeral services were February 19, 2008 at the Gayville-Volin United Methodist Church in Gayville, SD. Burial followed in the Volin Cemetery, rural Volin, SD.
