EARL CRAIG

Earl Craig, 88 of Memphis, Missouri, passed away Sunday afternoon March 23, 2008, at the Scotland County Memorial Hospital, in Memphis.

Earl was born July 9, 1919 in Memphis, MO, the son of Harry and Ida Proctor Craig. He married Frances Jane Williams on June 27, 1953 at the Methodist Church in Memphis.

Earl graduated from Memphis High School in 1938 and attended college at Central Methodist College in Fayette, MO, as well as Northeast MO State Teacherís College (now Truman State University) in Kirksville, MO.

He worked at Cravenís Mobil Service Station for over 36 years, retiring in 1983.

Earl enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son and his dogs.

He is survived by his wife Frances Jane, his son John and wife Donna, all of Memphis, MO; nephews John Lyng and family all of Hannibal, MO, and Donald Craig and family of San Diego, CA; and niece Cathy Craig of Anaheim, CA.

He will be sadly missed by his little friend, Lucky.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister.

The family has suggested memorials to the Scotland County Cancer Fund and they may be left at or mailed to the Payne Funeral Chapel, 202 E. Madison, Memphis, MO 63555.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Payne Funeral Chapel in Memphis.
