William Wesley Reed, 79, of Lancaster, MO, passed away at the Schuyler County Nursing Home in Queen City, MO, where he had been a resident since November, 2007.

The son of William Russell and Viva (Aeschliman) Reed, he was born on June 26, 1928 east of Lancaster, MO, on the family farm.

Survivors include his sister, Norma Ruth Bradford of Centralia, MO; one nephew, Robert Bradford of Centralia, MO; three nieces, Sandra Lee and husband, Craig of Glendale, AZ, Linda Folkerth and husband, Larry of Phoenix, AZ and Sealann Braford of Columbia, MO; two great nieces, Mindy Hurd of Boulder, CO, and Laura Folkerth of Phoenix, AZ; two great-nephews, Tyler Lee of Centralia, MO and Justin Folkerth of Phoenix, AZ; and other family members.

William (Billy) is preceded in death by his parents; one brother-in-law, Seal Bradford and a very special friend, Lola Mae Cragg.

William (Billy) was a life long resident of Lancaster, MO, where he was engaged in livestock farming most of his life.

Funeral services were held April 7, 2008 at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, MO with Sonny Smyser, pastor of the Lancaster United Methodist Church officiating. Music was provided by organist, Maureen Watkins. Pallbearers were Larry Aeschliman, Court Aeschliman, Bryce Tallman, Gooden Ford, Billy Brunk, and Whit Aeschliman. Memorials have been established for the Schuyler County Nutrition Site. Burial will be in the Arni Memorial Cemetery in Lancaster, MO. Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman Funeral Home of Lancaster, MO.
