Fern Lancaster, 75, of Memphis, MO, passed away April 11, 2008, surrounded by her loving family at Scotland County Memorial Hospital in Memphis, MO.

The daughter of Clark and Faye March Eggleston, she was born January 31, 1933, in Scotland County, MO.

Fern married Jodey Lancaster, May 8, 1955, and to this union two children were born, Sherri Snodgrass and Tim Lancaster.

Fern worked with Sue Myers as a beautician for 40 years. She was a very devoted wife who loved and enjoyed her husband, kids and grandkids dearly. She enjoyed boating, cooking, snowmobiling and spending many adventurous weekends with Jodey.

Fern was preceded in death by her father, Clark Eggleston and mother, Faye Eggleston.

Surviving relatives include husband, Jodey Lancaster of Memphis, MO; daughter, Sherri Snodgrass and husband, Don of Chesterfield, MO; son, Tim Lancaster and wife, Lori of Amelia Island, FL; granddaughters, Casey Delkus and husband, Jamie of Collinsville, IL, Dani Snodgrass of Maryville, MO, Tacey Douglas of Tampa, FL, Torie Lancaster of Fernandina Beach, FL; grandsons, Aaron Snodgrass of Fayette, MO, Clarke Snodgrass of Chesterfield, MO, Corbin Lancaster of Amelia Island, FL; step-grandsons, Ryan Barnett of Amelia Island, FL and Brandon Barnett of Ft. Lee, VA; sister, Jennell Dieterich of Kirksville, MO, and brother, Gene Eggleston of Moberly, MO.

Donations are suggested to the United Methodist Church and may be left at or mailed to the Payne Funeral Chapel, 202 E. Madison St., Memphis, MO 63555.

Services were held April 14, 2008, at the Memphis United Methodist Church with Rev. Terry Lippstreu officiating. Musician was Ann Luther. Pallbearers were Kris Lancaster, Aaron Snodgrass, Don Snodgrass, Clarke Snodgrass, Joe Holtzclaw, and Duane McDonald. Honorary pallbearers were Scott Lucas, Steve Lucas, Jamie Delkus and Max Eggleston. Interment was in the Brock Cemetery, Scotland County, MO. Arrangements by Payne Funeral Chapel, Memphis, MO.
