HARRY LEE GILBERT

Harry Lee Gilbert, 91, of Springdale, AR, passed away on June 17, 2008 at The Maples in Springdale, AR.

The son of William Milton and Cora Priscilla (Thompson) Gilbert, he was born on August 2, 1916, in Memphis, MO.

On April 17, 1938 in Princeton, MO, he was united in marriage to Mary Venus Beeler and to this union four sons were born, David, Stephen, Marc and Michael.

Survivors include his four sons, David Beeler Gilbert and wife, Carol of Winston Salem, NC, Harry Stephen Gilbert and wife, Fatemeh of Ormond Beach, FL, Marc Harold Gilbert and wife, Delene of Garland, TX, and Michael Wayne Gilbert and wife, Pamela of Springdale, AR; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

His parents and his wife, Mary Venus Gilbert on February 28, 2001, preceded Mr. Gilbert in death.

Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert lived most of their married life in Springdale, AR, where he retired as a hatchery manager from George’s Hatchery. They moved to Springdale, AR 48 years ago from Fairfield, IA.

Graveside services were held on June 21, 2008 at the Arni Memorial Cemetery with Robert Harrison, pastor of the Lancaster Baptist Church of Lancaster, MO officiating. Pallbearers were Rex Beeler, John Beeler, Jack Beeler, Poe Steggall, Phil Beeler and Gerald Ray Bragg. Memorials have been established. Burial was held at the Arni Memorial Cemetery in Lancaster, MO. Arrangements were under the direction of the Norman Funeral Home of Lancaster, MO.
