VIRGINIA ELLEN PATTERSON
(12/11/1943 - 7/24/2008)



Virginia Ellen Patterson, age 64, of Edina, Missouri, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2008, in the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri.

She was born on December 11, 1943, at LaBelle, Missouri the daughter of James Henry and Alice Elizabeth Leigh McCabe.

On July 28, 1963 at Edina, Missouri she was united in marriage to Mike Patterson and he preceded her in death on March 2, 1999.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, James Junior McCabe.

Surviving are two daughters, Jennifer Holland and husband Rick of Worthington, Missouri and Rachel Patterson and fiancée James Dickey of Park Hills, Missouri, two grandsons, Zachary Small and Brandon Dugger, one step grandchild Courtney Dickey, two brothers, Gary Lee McCabe of Edina, Missouri, and David Thomas McCabe of Knox City, Missouri, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Virginia received her education at Edina where she graduated from Edina High School. After their marriage she and her husband owned and operated P & P Plumbing and Heating in Memphis, Missouri for several years. Since 2003 she has resided in Edina, Missouri. Virginia enjoyed sewing, embroidery work, gardening, fishing and spending time with her daughters, grandsons, family and friends. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Edina, Missouri.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 28, 2008, at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri. The Reverend Dewayne Wellborn officiated the services. Musical selections were “Precious Memories”, “Life’s Railway to Heaven” and “Amazing Grace” provided by Alisa Kigar and Angela Westhoff. Burial was in the Bible Grove Christian Church Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Joe McCabe, Todd McCabe, Tyler Lonberger, Tristan Lonberger, Leighton McCabe, Tom McCabe.

Expressions of sympathy in memory of Virginia Ellen Patterson may be made to the Linville Cemetery or The Bible Grove Christian Church Cemetery. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1, Edina, Missouri, 63537.
