LARRY EUGENE ANDERS
(12/10/1944–10/18/2008)



Larry Eugene Anders, 63, of Glenwood, MO, passed away October 18, 2008, following a long battle with cancer.

The son of Ray Clifford and Marie Ozell (Timmons) Anders, Larry was born on December 10, 1944, in rural Unionville, MO.

He was united in marriage to Shirley Jean Hurley on September 17, 1968 in Livonia, MO.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley of Glenwood, MO; five children, Brenda Williams of Branson, MO, Jeanne Hartley and husband, Floyd of Downing, MO, Lorinda Anders of Downing, MO, Terry Anders of Greentop, MO, and Kevin Anders of Downing, MO; 19 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Kenneth Anders and wife, Ilene of Unionville, MO; two sisters, Betty Dooley and husband, Larry of Promise City, IA and Ruby Mae Carey of Carbon Cliff, IL; mother-in-law, Josephine Hurley Mathes of Queen City, MO; two sisters-in-law, Glenda Gates and husband, Larry of Livonia, MO, Kimberly Rojak and husband, Phil of Springfield, MO; three brothers in-law, Richard Hurley of Memphis, MO, James Hurley and wife, Diane of Center, MO, Joe Hurley and wife, Billie of Downing, MO; aunts; uncles; many nieces and nephews and friends.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Marie Anders; his father-in-law, Glen Hurley; one brother and sister-in-law, Laverne and Nadine Anders; three brothers-in-law, Laverne Hurley, Roger Hurley and Arthur Hurley; two sisters-in-law, Krystal Hurley and Jillynda Hurley; two nephews, Clinton Hurley and Christoper Hurley and two nieces and one nephew in infancy.

Larry attended the Assembly of God Church in Glenwood, MO.

Other than his family, Larry enjoyed working on automobiles and machinery, horseback riding and hunting. Larry operated heavy machinery and did construction work until his health forced him to retire.

Funeral services were held on October 22, 2008 at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, MO with Robin McCullar, pastor of the Assembly of God officiating. Special CD selections of “Daddy’s Hands”, “If They Could See Me Now” and “Angels In The Room” was provided. Pallbearers were Floyd Hartley, Cody Hartley, Terry Anders, Calvin Crim, Kevin Anders and Joe Hurley. Memorials have been established for the family. Burial was in the Hurley Cemetery in rural Putnam County, MO. Arrangements were under the direction of the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, MO.
