Arlo R. Kreiss, 67, of Keosauqua, IA, died Saturday, November 1, 2008 in a multiple vehicle accident south of Arbela, MO, in which his son, Richard also lost his life.

He was born January 30, 1941 in Keosauqua, IA to Joe and Edith Winn Kreiss.

He married Ellen L. Brewer, May 14, 1961 in Farmington United Methodist Church.

He graduated from Keosauqua High School Keosauqua, IA in 1959, managed Burdman Auto Parts and operated his own welding shop in Keosauqua and was currently an over the road truck driver for Troutman Trucking, LLC, Bonaparte, IA.

He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Teresa McIntosh (Kevin), daughter-in-law, Tracey Kreiss, all of Keosauqua, IA; four grandsons, Derek and Bryce Philips and Tyson and Colton Kreiss; a brother, Gary Kreiss (Vivan) of Fairfield, IA; three sisters, Lana Boughner (Charles) of Kellogg, IA, Linda Brill (Wayne) and JoAnn Wiley of Des Moines, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Taryn Phillips.

Joint funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2008, 1:30 p.m. at Roberts Memorial Center Highway 1 north, Keosauqua, IA with Rev. Elsa Lawry and Rev. Ellis Andrew officiating. Burial will be in Center Chapel Cemetery southeast of Keosauqua, IA. The casket will remain closed. Gifts to a memorial to be designated by the family may be left at the funeral home, Roberts Center or mailed to the family at P.O. Box 1, Keosauqua, IA 52565.
