Brookfield Blasts Lady Tigers

First year coach TJ Young may have wanted to send the manager to check the team bus for his squad’s offense on Tuesday night in Brookfield.

Scotland County didn’t get off the transport with its “A game” as the Lady Tigers managed just 12 points in the first half of the key Tri-Rivers Conference match.

Brookfield jumped on top 15-5 in the first eight minutes. The lead grew to 27-12 at the break.

Young tried to wake the team up by starting his bench in the third period. But Brookfield added to its margin, leading 43-19.

Scotland County finally came to life in the fourth period, outscoring Brookfield 26-19 as Brookfield rolled to the 62-45 victory.

Kaitlin Caldwell led Scotland County with 12 points. Kelsey Frazier added 11 points and also grabbed seven rebounds. Kirsten Johnston finished with nine.
