Loss Ends Lady Tigers League Season Below .500 Mark

A shot at finishing above the .500 mark in the Tri Rivers Conference eluded Scotland County as the Lady Tigers were unable to complete a second half rally in the league finale February 15th in Queen City.

SCR-I fell behind Schuyler County 14-8 in the first period. The home squad extended the margin to 27-28 at the intermission.

But Scotland County rallied in the third period, trimming the deficit to 38-35.

But the rally stalled in the fourth period. The Lady Tigers couldn’t get over the hump, as both teams scored 14 points in the final eight minutes allowing Schuyler County to hold on for the 52-49 victory.

Scotland County fell to 8-13 and 3-4 in conference play.

Valerie Oldham scored 18 points to lead the Lady Tigers. She also grabbed nine rebounds. Kirsten Johnston pitched in with seven points and Kelsey Frazier added six points and five rebounds.
