Memphis, MO (April 14) - The Scotland County Fairboard decided to take over the weekly promotion of the Scotland County Speedway in Memphis for 2008. After months of planning and hard work from the race committee the 2008 racing season is set to begin this Saturday, April 19th.
The speedway will be holding an open practice day this Saturday, April 19th, weather permitting. All classes are welcome, including Late Models, Sprints, Modifieds, Stock Cars, B-Modifieds, Hobby Stocks, 4-Cylinders and any other classes, to come and test their cars before the season opener.
Pit gates will open at 12 p.m., with the practice set for 1-4 p.m. Pit passes will be $10 and the grandstand is free.
Then the season is set to begin on Saturday, April 26th with Jís Foods of Memphis, MO sponsoring the opening night of racing. Racing action each week will feature the Modifieds, Stock Cars, B-Modifieds, Hobby Stocks and 4-Cylinders.
