Byrn’s 97 Tops Memphis FFA Trapshoot Scores at State

Members of the Memphis FFA trapshooting team traveled to Linn Creek, Missouri, on Saturday, April 26th to compete in the State FFA Trapshoot. The team earned their way into this competition through area and district qualification.

Members of the team who qualified for this event were Trever Harris, Zach Anderson, Justin Winn, Dakota Wells, and Charlie Elder. Due to injury and prom conflicts, a couple of the students were unable to participate in the event, so alternates Logan Byrn and Mackenzie Byrn stepped up to the plate. The five students shot in sunny, but windy, conditions at the Missouri State Trap Grounds, home of the Missouri Trapshooters’ Association. This range can be somewhat intimidating, as it is the second longest trap range in the nation.

Despite the tough westerly winds, the students put together a good score. The team shot a 407 out of a possible 500. They shot four rounds of 25 birds each, for a total of 100 targets per shooter. Scores for the event were: Logan Byrn - 97, Justin Winn - 72, Zach Anderson - 76, Dakota Wells - 89, and Mackenzie Byrn - 73. This event caps off the season for the Memphis FFA Trapshoot team.
