Tigers Track Season Ends at District 2 Meet

The Scotland County track season came to an end Saturday, May 3rd at the Class 2 District 2 meet in Centralia as no athletes qualified to advance to the sectional event.

The Tigers finished in 13th place in the 16-team field with 11 points. Centralia won the district title with 108.5 points. Clark County finished second with 78 followed by Marceline (73.5), Macon (68) and South Shelby (64).

Rod Sears finished fifth in the long jump with a leap of 188.5 to earn four team points. Joe Smith of Westran won the event clearing 2110.5.

The Tigers 4x800 relay squad of Ryan Auld, Rod Sears, Sabe Sears and Nathan Purvis finished sixth to earn three points.

The 4x200 team of Kegan Hunt, Rod Sears, Sabe Sears and Joe Spurgeon was seventh. The same four-member team took seventh place in the 4x100 relay.
