Fuller, Spurgeon Earn All Conference Golf Honors

A pair of Scotland County golfers earned Tri-Rivers All Conference honors as SCR-I brought home third place from the league tournament held April 29th at Lancaster Country Club.

Joe Spurgeon shot an 85 in the event to tie for third best individual score and earn first team all conference honors.

Jerad Fuller carded a 98 on the day to finish with the 10th best individual score earning the junior second team all conference honors.

Brookfield won the team title with a composite score of 360. All five of the teams golfers earned all conference honors. Seniors Logan Shaw and Brett Carmichael finished 1-2 in individual scoring, carding rounds of 82 and 84.

Rounding out the first team all conference were seniors Nathan Stock of Schuyler County (85) and Matt McCollum (87) of Putnam County.

The second team was all underclassmen. Sophomores Zach Nixon of Clark County and Ritnee Smiley of Milan shot 88s to top the squad. Junior Kasey Knight of Putnam County shot a 92 followed by Brookfield freshman William Tschannen with a 95. Fuller finished with a 98 and Brookfield’s John Swift, a junior, and Josh Maxwell, a freshman, both shot rounds of 99.

Putnam County finished in second place with a team score of 386 and SCR-I earned third place with a score of 400. Kasey Dial shot a 109 and Jordan Fulk added a 109 while Michael Moore finished with a 110.

Clark County finished in fourth with a 404 followed by Milan and Schuyler County tied for 5th with scores of 419.
