Eggleston, Teammates Earn All-HAAC Softball Honors

CANTON, Mo. - Culver-Stockton College first basemen Carley Thurston was named to the All-Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) first team for the third consecutive year by league coaches in voting done at the HAAC softball tournament in Springfield, Mo.

Four other Wildcat players, second baseman Jackie Clark, pitcher Sara Eggleston, shortstop Katelin Goddard, and designated player Danielle Kaltmayer were named to the second team.

Thurston, a junior from Godfrey, IL (Alton HS), batted a team-high .369 with 32 runs batted in during the regular season. She recorded eight doubles, a triple and two home runs while slugging .492.

Clark, a senior from River Grove, IL (East Leyden HS), batted .339 with 22 runs batted in. She garnered a team-leading 14 doubles and had three home runs, recording a slugging percentage of .524.

Goddard, a sophomore from Lewistown, IL. (Lewistown HS), led the team with 49 hits during the regular season. She batted .327, scored a team-best 30 runs and had 24 stolen bases.

Eggleston, a senior from Memphis, (Scotland County HS), tallied a 1.90 earned run average despite being 9-11 on the season. She pitched a team-high 154.1 innings in 26 appearances, 23 of which were starts. In addition, Eggleston struck out 82 and opponents batted .221 against her.

Kaltmayer, a sophomore from St. Louis, (Hazelwood West HS), batted .255 with four doubles and four home runs during the regular season. She totaled 22 runs batted in and led the team with 17 walks.
