SCR-I Mashes Milan to Move to 3-1 in Conference Play

The game lasted only three innings. But the bulk of Scotland County’s line-up went to the plate at least four times as the Lady Tigers demolished Milan 18-0 on September 23 in Milan to improve to 3-1 in the Tri-Rivers Conference.

Jessica Sites went to the plate three times in the first inning, as SCR-I batted around twice en route to a 14-run onslaught. She had a pair of base hits and scored twice before recording the final out of the inning that saw 19 batters go to the plate.

Kelly Lister doubled and walked to score twice. Kaitlin Caldwell was hit by a pitch, twice, and scored two runs in the painful inning for the senior first baseman.

Valerie Oldham went 2-4 at the plate with a double and four RBI. Lister finished 2-2 with a pair of walks. She scored three runs. Deidra Dochterman went 2-3 with three RBI and three runs scored.

Lister picked up the victory on the mound, facing just 10 batters. She did not allow a hit or walk, with the lone runner reaching on an error. She struck out two over the three innings of work.

SCR-I improved to 4-8 overall and 3-1 in league play.
