Hines Two-Hits SCR-I in Key Conference Contest

Stacy Hines struck out eight of the first nine batters she faced and limited Scotland County to just two hits en route to a 5-0 victory over Scotland County on September 25th at Unionville.

The loss dropped SCR-I to 3-2 in league play and 4-9 overall on the season.

Back-to-back errors to open the game for Scotland County allowed the Midgets to score a pair of unearned runs in the first inning.

Putnam County added single runs in the third, fifth and sixth innings to extend the margin to 5-0.

Elizabeth Small and Loren Smith recorded the hits for Scotland County, which threatened in the fourth inning after the hit by Small and a walk to Skyler Alderton. But SCR-I stranded both runners.

Hines picked up the win, throwing the shutout. She gave up two hits and walked two while striking out 12.

Kelly Lister took the loss for SCR-I. She allowed four hits and two walks while striking out three over six innings of work.
