Wheels Come Off In Final Inning of 11-1 Loss For Lady Tigers

A 1-0 deficit jumped to double digits in the blink of an eye as the wheels came off for the Scotland County softball team in the sixth inning of the September 30th Tri-Rivers Conference tilt versus North Shelby in Memphis.

The first four innings saw the two squads locked in pitcher’s dual as Kelly Lister matched Jillian Yoder with four straight shutout innings.

North Shelby finally broke through in the fifth inning to pull ahead 1-0.

The Lady Raiders took advantage of a pair of costly errors by Scotland County in the top of the sixth, opening the door for 10 runs to score.

SCR-I scored its lone tally in the bottom of the sixth. Jessica Sites singled and stole second base. She went to third on a passed ball and came in to score on a sacrifice fly by Elizabeth Small.

Yoder limited SCR-I to just two hits and one walk while striking out nine.
