Lady Rams Spoil Senior Night For SCR-I Softball

Schuyler County put a damper on senior night at Johnson Park in Memphis as the visiting Rams routed SCR-I 17-3 in the regular season finale for both squads.

Prior to the game Scotland County honored its four seniors in their final game. Kaitlin Caldwell, Deidra Dochterman, Christina Duzan and Valerie Oldham were recognized in a pre-game ceremony.

That was the end of the celebration for Scotland County, as the visiting squad jumped on top of SCR-I 3-0 in the top of the first inning. The lead grew to 5-0 in the next frame.

SCR-I cut into the lead within the bottom of the inning. Skyler Alderton walked and came around to score on a long double by Oldham to make it 5-1.

But Schuyler County blew the game open with a six-run third inning to lead by double digits.

SCR-I scored in the bottom of the third when Dochterman reached on a fielder’s choice and scored on a triple by Alderton.

Schuyler County made it 15-2 with four more runs in the fourth inning.

With the score 17-2, SCR-I tacked on one final run in the bottom of the fifth. Alderton singled and came around to score on a double by Loren Smith.

SCR-I ended the regular season with a 5-14 record and a 3-4 mark in Tri-Rivers Conference play.
