Extension to Host Ag Night on January 15th
Good food, and good information… That is the menu for the upcoming Scotland County Extension Ag Night to be held Thursday, January 15th at the Scotland County R-I High School.
Extension specialists will offer a number of informative presentations split into two sessions.
Guests will be able to choose one of four different workshops held from 6:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. The offerings will include: “2008 Gardening Challenges and How to Prepare for Next Season” by Jennifer Schutter; “Farm Leases” by Darla Campbell; “Pasture Weed Control: Will it Pay?” by Leon McIntyre or “Fence Law revisited” presented by Joe Koenene.
A spaghetti supper will be served beginning at 6:45 p.m. The meal will be a free-will offering and will include tossed salad, breadsticks, dessert and beverage. The proceeds will help with office operation costs.
The second session will start at 8:00 p.m. Koenen and Campbell will give repeat performances of their first session classes. The other options will include “Managing Stress: Keeping Life in Balance” presented by Judy Howard, or “New Evidence” Lime Reduces Fertilizer Needs” by Leon McIntyre.
Child care will be provided during the event.
A number of exhibits will also be available in the high school commons the night of the event.
