Memphis Woman Hurt in Accident Near Atlanta

A Memphis woman was airlifted from the scene of a one-vehicle accident on US 63 two miles south of Atlanta on December 30th.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Pamela K. Barnes, 62, was southbound on Highway 63 in a 2000 Ford when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway where it struck an embankment and overturned.

Barnes was extricated from the vehicle by the Macon County Rescue Squad and the Atlanta Fire Department and was treated at the scene by the Macon County Ambulance Service before being flown by Air Evac Helicopter to University Medical Center in Columbia.

The accident occurred at 9:30 a.m. The vehicle sustained total damage and was towed from the scene by Stillís Towing.
