March Sworn in as Memphis Post Master

The Memphis Post Office is entering the New Year under new leadership. Monica March was recently named the new Memphis Post Master following the retirement of Terrie Starbuck.

March is no stranger to Scotland County. She has worked as a carrier and clerk in the Memphis Post Office, and also served as the Arbela Post Master for two years. She got her start with the USPS in 1993 as the clerk at the Lancaster Post Office.

Most recently she had been serving as the Post Master for LaPlata. The Schuyler County native said she is looking forward to getting back closer to home.

March was officially sworn in to the office on January 30th. A number of friends and family members as well as postal service employees were on hand for the ceremony at the Memphis Post Office. The service was performed by Peggy Beck, USPS manager of postal operations.

Starbuck, who officially retired on January 2nd, had held the post the past five years following the retirement of Gary Bush.
