Memphis Teen Hurt in Crash Friday Night
A Memphis teen was injured in a one-car accident on Friday evening north of Memphis.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Ashley M. Westhoff, 17, was injurred when the 1998 Jeep she was driving ran off the rightside of the roadway before traveling down an embankment and striking a tree. The accident occurred at 9:50 p.m. on Route BB, eight miles north of Memphis.
Westhoff was transported by the Scotland County Ambulance Service to Scotland County Memorial Hospital. She was later transferred to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.
According to family members, Ashley suffered “light” internal injuries. She was kept in the intensive care unit until Sunday morning and family members anticipated she would be coming home on Monday or Tuesday. She suffered no external injuries and no surgery was required.
“We appreciate all the support from the community,” said her father Stacy Westhoff from the hospital. “We hope to have Ash home by Monday or Tuesday.”
