Children’s Division to Host Accreditation Celebration

The 1st Circuit Children’s Division will host a Council on Accreditation Celebration on Friday, May 29th, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Scotland County Children’s Division at #2 Child Support Lane in Memphis.

The 1st Circuit Children’s Division participated in an accreditation review by the Council on Accreditation (COA) from February 3 – 5, 2009 to review the circuit services.

On March 10, 2009, COA notified the Children’s Division that the 1st Circuit was found in compliance with accreditation standards.

Becoming accredited reflects a commitment to organizational integrity and a system of best practice. Achieving and maintaining accreditation means that Missouri’s child welfare system will be amongst the finest in the nation.

COA’s program of quality improvement is designed to identify providers that have set high performance standards for themselves and have made a commitment to their constituents to deliver the very best quality services.

“This was a team effort,” said Shelley Curry, MSW Circuit Manager - 1st Judicial Circuit which serves Clark, Schuyler and Scotland counties. “We could not have done this without you, our community partners as a part of our team. Please plan to join us in the celebration.”
