Highway 136 Corridor Group to Host Area Meetings

Residents of northeast Missouri will have a pair of opportunities to discuss transportation issues when the Highway 136 Corridor East gathers for two meetings in the coming weeks.

The communities of Kahoka and Unionville will host informational meetings regarding the organization, which consists of various county, municipal and industrial leaders served by the east/west highway that crosses north Missouri from Alexandria to St. Joseph.

Highway 136 Corridor East group will meet in Kahoka on Tuesday, June 9th at the Kahoka Christian Church. The event will begin at 6:00 p.m. at the facility, located north of Kahoka on Highway 81. A light dinner will be served. Representatives of the Missouri Department of Transportation District 3 will be present to discuss area projects.

Unionville will host a Corridor meeting on Tuesday, June 16th featuring MoDOT reps from the District 2 office. The meeting will start at 6:00 p.m. at the Lake Thunderhead Meeting Room on Wildflower Drive north of Unionville. A light dinner will be served.

“Please plan to attend one or both of these important meetings to discuss the future of the Highway 136 Corridor East and to voice your opinions and make an input towards the future of this important transportation corridor,” said Northeast Missouri Regional Planning Commission Director Nate Walker.
