Search Begins for Survivor Co-Chair for 2010 Relay for Life

Memphis, MO. — In 2010 Chris Tinkle will have been involved with the American Cancer Society Relay For Life for ten years as our Survivorship chairperson! Chris is looking for a Survivor co-chair for the 2010 Relay For Life of Scotland County and this person would take over as Survivor chair in 2011.

“I get such gratification working with cancer survivors, volunteering my time helping to celebrate their survivorship means more to me than I can say,” says Chris Tinkle

“The American Cancer Society could not operate without the valuable contributions of volunteers like Chris said Brenda Carlin, Community Manager, for the American Cancer Society. “As the nation’s largest voluntary health organization, we depend upon volunteers to carry our patient support programs and services directly into the community. Volunteers are also critical in raising money the American Cancer Society uses to fund research, advocacy, education, programs and services.”

“Chris Tinkle has been very active in Relay For Life for the last 10 years,” said Brenda Carlin for the American Cancer Society. “While Chris will still be involved in Relay For Life, she is ready to get a new person involved and bring new ideas to survivorship. “Chris is a dedicated volunteer and supports her community in the fight against cancer.”

For more information about becoming involved with the Survivor Co-Chair position you can contact Chris Tinkle at 660-465-7322 or your American Cancer Society staff partner Brenda Carlin at 800-683-2733 or by e-mail at You can also visit the American Cancer Society Web site at
