Old Lake Bash Group Makes Donation to City

Representatives of the Old Lake Bash Committee on Saturday, August 25th presented a $300 gift to the City of Memphis parks department.

Event organizer Evan Gosney presented the check to Memphis Mayor William Reckenberg during the Antique Fair.

The group brought back the traditional event at the Memphis City Lake in 2009 after the Bash had been defunct for more than a decade. Organizers put together a successful concert surrounded by a full day of entertainment at the park.

City officials have indicated a desire to use the donation to make improvements at the “Old Lake”. One suggestion has been the construction of sand volleyball pits that could be used at the 2010 Old Lake Bash as well as all other gatherings held at the park.
