Seven Family Members Hurt in Crash
A one-vehicle accident Sunday evening in Scotland County left seven Canton residents injured.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Tamra S. Roberts was eastbound on Highway 136 three miles west of Memphis in a 2002 Mercury Mountaineer. Roberts swerved to avoid an unknown westbound vehicle that had crossed the centerline. She lost control of her vehicle and ran off the left side of the roadway where it overturned.
Chris Irvin, 37, of Canton, was ejected from the front passenger seat. He suffered serious injuries and was transported to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.
Roberts suffered moderate injuries and was also taken to Blessing Hospital.
Samantha Roberts, 12, daughter of the driver, suffered serious injuries and was flown by helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia.
Haley M. Roberts, 10, daughter of the driver, suffered minor injuries and was transported to Scotland County Memorial Hospital (SCMH).
Irvin’s three children, Austin (16), Autumn (14) and Bronson (9) all suffered minor injuries in the crash. The three children were transported to SCMH.
The Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Scotland County Ambulance Service, Memphis Police Department, Scotland County Sheriff’s Department and first responders.
