Rec-Plex Ready For Busy November
Maybe itís the threat looming from turkey, dressing and pumpkin pie later this month, but November will be a particularly busy month at the Scotland County Fitness Center.
The Rec-Plex has undergone an entrance system upgrade, which will impact all members. On November 4th and 5th the existing door entrance system was replaced. All members will need a new key card to access the facility.
Current members may begin exchanging their old key cards for new entrance passes beginning on November 5th. A representative of the fitness center will be available from noon until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. The key cards may only be exchanged at the fitness center office.
Members will be required to turn in their old card in exchange for a new card. These new cards will be assigned to one owner, are non-transferable, but will not have to be returned upon expiration of a membership.
Other key card exchange days are scheduled throughout November. The last day to exchange a key card or to request a deposit refund will be December 31st.
The upgrade was made possible by a grant through the Missouri Foundation for Health. The fitness center relies heavily upon grants, community donations and membership dues to operate and maintain the facility.
The fitness center will host a volunteer workday on Saturday, November 7th.
The co-ed volleyball league will kickoff play starting Thursday, November 12th. There are 10 teams playing in the weekly league.
The Fitness Center will host its annual membership drive on Saturday, November 28th from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The gym will be open for a free day. The Rec Plex will offer a 10% membership discount November 23rd, 24th and 28th.
