Variance Approved for Single-Family Developments

The Memphis City Council took the first step in allowing a proposed four-home development by the Northeast Missouri Community Action Agency at the December 3rd meeting.

Siting as the City’s Board of Adjustment, the aldermen voted 3-0 to approve a variance request on the property located between Barker-Stevenson Street, Jefferson Street and Rex Street. The variance will allow the project not to be subject to City Code Section 405.240 that establishes setback limits for minimum side, front and rear yard requirements between the four proposed buildings.

NMCAA has submitted an application with the Missouri Housing Development Commission to build four single family homes. The three bedroom, two bathroom homes will be 48x31 and are proposed to be built on ground under contract by NMCAA from the Roy Lee Smith and Mauretta Smith Family Trust.
