Redmon Announces Candidacy for State Representative

Craig Redmon of Canton has filed documents with the Missouri Ethics Commission with the intent of running for the state representative in the First District of Missouri. Redmon is a small business owner in Monticello. He held a press conference at the C & B convenience store in Canton on December 23rd to kick off his campaign.

The candidate stated he decided to run for the position due to the need for a strong voice to accurately communicate the needs of the First District in Jefferson City. Redmon stated he will work for more economic development, lower taxes, better schools and improved access to better healthcare.

A life-long resident of northeast Missouri, Redmon will seek the Republican nod in the upcoming primary in an effort to replace First District State Representative Brian Munzlinger (R-Lewistown), who announced his senate candidacy earlier this year.

Redmon is a graduate of Culver-Stockton College with a degree in business administration and economics. He and his wife have been small business owners for 15 years. Craig has served on the Canton R-V school board for nine years, holding the office of president for three years. He has been involved with local youth athletics for many years and officiates basketball
