SCMH Partnering With Blessing Physicians to Offer Cardiac Care

Blessing Physician Services in Quincy, IL, is pleased to partner with Scotland County Hospital to provide cardiac services to the residents of the northeast Missouri area. Cardiologists John Hammock, MD; Rafe Heng, DO; and Steven Krause, DO, have established a specialty practice at Memphis Medical Services located within Scotland County Hospital. In addition, they will provide diagnostic interpretation for cardiac tests and procedures performed at SCH.

“This is a great day for the people of northeast Missouri,” stated Marcia Dial, CEO Scotland County Hospital, “We are thrilled with the addition of doctors Hammock, Heng and Krause, to Scotland County Hospital’s medical staff. When you think about it, to have comprehensive cardiology services here in Memphis, is an exciting advancement for our area. We have been working toward the goal of having cardiologists present in Memphis every week, and too, our development of a new level of cardiology diagnostics, plus our new certified cardiac rehab center, and then to have all those things we’ve been working for, at once! It’s a great time in our hospital’s history.”

All three cardiologists have ties to the northeast Missouri area – each having attended college in Kirksville. Dr. Krause and Dr. Heng are graduates of the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed their cardiology fellowships at St. James Hospital in Olympia Fields, IL. Dr. Krause also served with the United States Army Medical Corps both in the U.S. and abroad. A native of the Quincy area, Dr. Hammock is a graduate of Quincy Senior High School and Truman State University and received his medical degree at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield, IL. He completed an invasive cardiology fellowship at the University of Kentucky.
