Dorathy Carlene Adams, 88, of Keokuk, IA, died December 15, 2008 at River Hills Village, Keokuk, IA.

Carlene was born September 26, 1920 in Lewistown, MO, the daughter of Carl and Hazel Henry Richardson.

She married Wayne Adams on November 12, 1944 in Keokuk, IA. He preceded her in death on October 4, 2007.

Carlene retired from Keokuk Credit Bureau. She enjoyed restoring old dolls, needlework, traveling, camping and spending time with her family. Carlene was a Cub Scout den mother for many years. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

She is survived by three sons, Donald Adams and his wife, Debbie of Keokuk, IA, Jon Adams and his wife, Debby of Cedar Rapids, IA, and David Adams and his wife, Sandy of Lexington, KY; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Jane Swan of Keokuk, IA; a sister-in-law, Twila Fulk of Memphis, MO; many nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and three sisters.

Funeral services were held on December 19, 2008 at DeJong’s Funeral Home in Keokuk, IA. Words of comfort were brought by nephew Tom Richardson and a Eulogy by nephew Joe Fulk. Casketbearers were Daniel Adams, Trevor Adams, Carl Adams, Derek Adams, Greg Swan, Joe Fulk, and Jeff Coppler. Interment was in Hickory Grove Cemetery near Keokuk, IA.
