Alice Grapp Lancaster, 91, of Mashalltown, IA, passed away February 10, 2009, at Grandview Heights.

Funeral services were held February 13, 2009, at Pursel Davis Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Sipe officiating. Private burial was February 16, 2009, at Memphis Cemetery in Memphis, MO. Pursel Davis Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.

Alice was born September 10, 1917 in Cedar Falls, IA, the daughter of Elden William and Edith Lucrecia Fenner Grapp.

Alice was raised and educated in Cedar Falls, IA. She was united in marriage to Denzel Floyd Lancaster on March 1, 1941 in Waterloo, IA.

After retiring as a waitress, Alice walked many years to the Iowa Veterans Home where she volunteered. She was an excellent crotchtier, making and donating afghans to the veterans, family and friends.

Alice is survived by her sisters, Ethel Barth of Denver, CO, Rose Sells of Cedar Falls, IA, Marjorie (Raynor) Marchal of Woolstock, IA, Darlene (Wayne) Herzog of Cedar Falls, IA, Geraldine (Kenneth) Hanson of Evensdale, IA; brothers, Lyle (Darlene) Grapp of Waterloo, IA, Gerald (Cathy) Grapp of Waterloo, IA, Darrell “Rudy” (Linda) Grapp, of Cedar Falls, IA, and Warren (Nancy) Grapp of Osage Beach, MO.

Alice is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Vearl (William) Gilliand, Vola (Charles) Fairbanks, Betty Fisher; brothers, Robert Grapp, Donald (Bennie) Grapp; brothers-in-law, Ralph Barth, Harry Sells, Gene Wilson; and her husband, Denzel on January 22, 1982.
